Parent of Jessie Choo

Harmony Road <Music in me> 的课程,至今已经三年多了。

Teacher Anna!

Jessie has been attending Harmony Road <Music in me> for about 3 years, starting from the age of 3+ years old. She loves to attend the music lessons and looks forward to each week’s lessons, where she can play with different instruments, come up with different sounds and rhythms, and have fun with music and movement together with friends from her class. Her patient and experienced teacher is able to capture their attention, tap on the children’s imagination and use singing and movement to subtly allow her students to learn the fundamentals of music by having fun. In the process, both teacher and student are able to build rapport and gain mutual understanding, building a strong foundation for the students’ future music education. The dedicated teachers are sensitive to the children’s different learning styles and give each one of them individual guidance and feedback. This is why Jessie, at the young age 7, can now easily grasp difficult music theories and play challenging piano songs. She even teaches her younger sister, who also attends Harmony Road Music Courses, what she has learnt, instilling joy in her sister’s learning.

This music education has inculcated self-discipline in Jessie, and she now practices diligently before each lesson. As a result, when she started primary school, she would automatically finish her homework for the next day without my reminder. Jessie is able to cope very well with her Primary One schoolwork, and at the end of her P1 year, she and two others from her music class attained excellent academic results. I believe this is in no small way due to their years of music education here, which has brought them joy and confidence, developing in them a steady temperament and an active, alert mind. It has taught them to listen and to appreciate the beauty and intricacies of music. Music theory includes mathematics and other skills which can definitely be applied to the children’s studies as well. I don’t think I will ever regret giving my children this gift of music at the beginning of their young lives. Thank you Teacher Anna!
